About
Nabarun Gogoi is an artist based in Delhi, India. He graduated with a Master in Photography from École cantonale d’art de Lausanne (ECAL), Lausanne, Switzerland in June, 2025. Educated in Computer Science during his undergraduate education at BITS Pilani, Rajasthan, India and followed by a career as a Software Developer and a Game Developer, he uses his acquired technological competencies to create media art pieces that merge the boundaries of classical photography with newer dimensions of image-making, such as computer-generated imagery (C.G.I) and generative artificial intelligence (Gen A.I).
Born and initially educated in India, his work sources social issues of contemporary modern society, such as capitalism, loneliness, and dwindling political freedom, with the motive of creating narratives that question the viewer and their gaze. His latest projects have led him to question notions of masculinity and the patriarchy, which influence his idea and right to self. The ultimate objective would be to connect these various threads into a conclusive fabric of meaning.
He has exhibited his work at Matazz Group Exhibition Lausanne (November, 2024), ‘CO-EXISTENCE’ Group Exhibition (Paris) directed by Paris based art studio Area of Work (November, 2024) and the ‘We Do The Rest’ group exhibition at ECAL (September, 2024) and Arles (July, 2024), where the exhibition at ECAL was a part of the Swiss Photo Month 2024.
